Facebook's high popularity has led to prominent media coverage

Facebook platform is an American online social media and social networking service, It's website launched on 4th February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, an American student of Harvad University. And It has established by company based in Menlo Park, California, USA.

Mark Zuckerberg create a team of Harvard college students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes and became a founding group of facebook website and initially limited the website's membership to Harvard students only. Later they expanded it's service to higher education institutions, Universities and to high school students of USA. Since the year 2006, who claims at least 13 years old has been allowed to become a registered user of facebook as per local laws.

In the year 2012, from the month of February, Facebook started it's initial public offering platform and newly listed public company, began selling stock to the public and makes revenue from onscreen advertisements. Facebook can be accessed from a large range of devices with Internet connectivity, such as desktop, laptops, tablet and smartphones. Any user can create a customized profile indicating his name, occupation, schools attended and so on. Add as friends to other users, exchange messages, post open status, share photos, videos and links among the friends or public circle, use various software applications and receive notifications of other user's activity. By creating of groups, users may join common-interest user groups organized by workplace, school, hobbies or other professional topics and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends". Any user can report or block unpleasant people at any circumstances.
Now a days it has became more popular among various social networks. It's popularity has led to prominent media coverage for the company, including significant scrutiny over privacy and the psychological effects it has on users. In recent years, the company has faced intense pressure over the amount of fake news, hate speech and depictions of violence prevalent on its services, all of which it is attempting to counteract. Now it has more than 2.2 billion monthly active users as of January 2018.
